About the artist

Ian Jones has over 10 Years as a professional Artist and Illustrator. He works from a small studio in Nottingham, England.
His work is a frenzied mixture of painting, drawing, mark making and collage. He draws inspiration from many sources but his Graffiti and Street Art background is perhaps the most prevalent influence apparent in his work. Bright colours, texture, spontaneity and intuitive mark making are important parts of Ian's creative process. Ian strives to achieve a balance between the abstract and the figurative, working loosely and energetically before refining and working up the image, continuously building layers of colour and texture.
Ian's main influences are Shamanism, Cave Paintings, Comic Books, Graffiti and Tribal Art.
Favourite Artists include Dave Mckean, Jean Michel Basquiat, Skinner, Jeffrey Alan Love, Simon Bisley, Kris Kuksi amongst many others.
